This page covers the Opera classic living room by Francesco Pasi and the current pieces that suit its look. Opera came in white, cream, ebony, hazelnut and vintage walnut, each glossy or opaque. A hand-carved sofa, a cherry wall composition and a fretwork console show how to rebuild that balance today.
What set the Opera living room apart?
Opera grouped tall showcases, chests and TV chests with a slim console, all in one family of finishes. Every colour, from white to ebony, was offered glossy or opaque, so the same room could read bright or subdued. That choice still comes first: gloss returns light from each door, while an opaque surface keeps the eye on shape and detail.
Which sofa and storage wall suit this style now?
A hand-carved sofa and a solid cherry wall unit carry the Opera balance into a current room. The Gran Guardia Sofa with 6 Cushions by Francesco Pasi, H 104 x W 240 x D 92 cm, has carvings made entirely by hand by master craftsmen. Compare it with other luxury designer sofas before fixing the layout.
For the main wall, the New Deco Wall Composition 4 by Francesco Pasi has solid cherry doors and drawers, 34 mm thick, and a back in Tanganyika walnut plywood.
Where should a console go?
Place a console behind a sofa that floats in the room, or on the short wall between two doors. The New Deco Fretwork Console by Francesco Pasi is lacquered, with gold or silver leaf applied by hand, and stands on solid cherry uprights of 60 mm.
